After School Program

Our After School Program is offered from 3:00 – 5:30PM, Monday through Friday, during the school year. Members are grouped with the appropriate age group and rotate to a number of enrichment activities such as homework help, computer instruction, art and crafts, indoor and outdoor recreation, financial literacy, Kids in the Kitchen, Girl’s Group, and Torch Club. Also included are holiday parties and event including a Thanksgiving feast and a holiday party in December. The registration fee for September-December $50, with a discount for each additional child registered within one family. No child is turned away due to financial need.

Tutoring

Small group tutoring runs from October to June. We are always looking to add to our team of dedicated tutors.  Many of our members are a year or two behind in their literacy studies and NEED our help to advance to the next grade. Please contact Jason@BurroughsCC.org for more information.

Summer Program

Our summer program is an exciting six-week, half-day program where children enjoy educational, recreational and social activities. The summer staff strives to provide new and fun activities for our kids so that they may discover new talents and interests. Members participate in computer instruction, arts and crafts, recreation, weekly field trips and more. Our members also enjoy the Golf Buddies program. Golf Buddies is taught by golf professionals and instructs twelve members on the fundamentals of golf. After weekly trips to a local golf course they participate in a tournament at the end of the summer at the Par Three in Fairfield.

Sparks Travel

Sparks Travel is a six month program for our 6-8th graders. Members begin weekly sessions in January where they learn about the sites and history behind a destination. They practice leadership and team-building skills and learn what it takes to travel. These sessions continue into July and culminate with a week long travel experience. In 2009 we were able to take 22 children by plane to Pennsylvania, Maryland and Washington D.C. This program is made possible by The Tauck Foundation.
